Aziz founded the Aziz Torbey Law Firm (ATLF) in 1973. He has extensive experience representing corporations and banks in a wide variety of commercial and financial matters, as well as in administrative proceedings and litigation involving all kinds of tax, real estate and construction issues, including sophisticated operations of expropriations for public utility.Moreover, Aziz serves as a tax consultant and a legal advisor to a number of financial institutions, banks, insurance companies, real estate vehicles and corporations, ensuring that each client maximizes profits by properly and most efficiently applying Lebanese tax laws. Furthermore, Aziz has served as Arbitrator in numerous local and international high profile cases, and has efficiently represented creditors and debtors in bankruptcy proceedings in Lebanon. Aziz’s background and experience in journalism, teaching, political activism and business have contributed tremendously to his career as a leading legal professional. He is listed in the 2005 International Who’s Who of Professionals for his exemplary achievements and contributions to the business community, and has been recognized in 2006 as an International Legal Practice Mentor by the Center for International Legal Studies (CILS), and as a notable lawyer by the International Financial Law Review (IFLR).Aziz is a member of the Arab Center for the development of the Rule of Law and Integrity (ACRLI), a member of the Maronite League, and a member of the Maronite Center for Documentation and Research, a non-commercial and non-profit research institution operating under the auspices of the Maronite Patriarchate. He is also actively involved in the preservation and development of the Lebanese cultural heritage.Aziz is a member of the Beirut Bar Association since 1968.
